Access Portals

Access portals connect your staff and software applications to current forms information via multiple media. Authorized users can send forms data via fax or e-mail or port directly to document management/imaging systems or the HIS, ensuring a seamless transfer of information to anywhere in the hospital.

Read on to discover how Access’s E-mail, Fax and Image Portals increase the availability of the forms details that are needed to complete patient- and business-centered processes.

Fax and E-Mail Portals
The Access Fax and E-mail Portals bridge the PFS system to the customer’s fax and e-mail servers, enabling authorized staff members to send forms to appropriate parties, saving time and money on traditional delivery methods.

Rather than taking time away from patients to hand-deliver forms throughout the hospital, associates send forms directly to nursing stations, physicians’ offices, HIM or insurance providers with just a single click. Instantly distribute any complete document, subdocument or single page, delivering accurate and secure version of forms.

Image Portal
With Access's Image Portal, users can send e-Forms to the document management/imaging system and skip the time-consuming and error-prone step of manual indexing. The Image Portal receives electronic forms in Postscript format and converts them to any image format before sending them to the document management system. The forms are then processed by the hospital’s imaging software and automatically indexed for online retrieval by authorized users anywhere in the facility.

Universal Document Portal
If your healthcare facility is like most, your physicians want to be able to conveniently view EKG strips and printed output from glucometers, fetal monitors and other clinical monitoring devices. For facilities still relying on paper output, this presents a logistical problem – as EKG strips and other printed materials can be several feet long and are difficult to manipulate, store and transport.

Those facilities using a document management system also face challenges. The typical process involves cutting output strips into sections, sticking them to sheets of paper and scanning them into the document management application. In addition to preparation and scanning time, this process also involves tedious and error-prone manual indexing.

We have a better way.
Our Universal Document Portal (UDP) captures print feeds and indexes them directly into the document management system, where they are automatically linked to patient records in the health information system (HIS).

This product eliminates the errors , wasted time and poor quality of the manual process, and enables physicians and other authorized staff members to conveniently view EKG strips and output from other clinical devices from anywhere. Another advantage is that document images precisely mirror the original output, helping physicians make timely and informed decisions without the physical limitations of dealing with large paper printouts.

To meet your facility’s unique needs, we offer two options for UDP:

  • An enterprise solution with unlimited feeds
  • A managed solution with five feeds that can be expanded later
