40 percent of all waste material produced in the United States is paper. It takes an average of 24 trees to produce one ton of printing and office paper. And every year, Americans use more than 90 million tons of paper. The average hospital in the U.S. generates 10 to 20 million pieces of paper ever year. That translates into 1,800 trees per year per hospital. Access exists to turn paper processes into electronic ones. Every facility that uses our products strives to reduce the amount of paper it uses. We are proud to offer products that are 100 percent paper-free.
While we’re dedicated to providing healthcare organizations with solutions that save time and money, we’re also sold on the environmental benefits that forms management tools provide. Such products are classed as ‘green technologies’ because they reduce waste and enable your organization to continue growing without increasing your impact on the environment.
Implementing an Access solution can eliminate 90 percent or more of the forms you generate, saving not only paper but also the resources used to transport documents from an external vendor and storage facility. As forms can be distributed electronically in Access, these environmental savings are compounded by the reduction in photocopying, not to mention less use of folder, labels, tabs and inter-office mail envelopes.
In addition to assisting with our customers’ green initiatives. Access is committed to reducing our carbon footprint. As more than 50 percent of our employees work remotely we’ve eliminated the impact of thousands of commuter miles each month, and the power and waste costs of running a large headquarters.
Our commitment to the environment also extends to the way we communicate about our solutions. We only print a few select pieces of marketing and sales collateral, and our printing partners listed below use green printing techniques that minimize paper waste and put a premium on using recycled materials. As we distribute most trade show material on CDs and USB sticks, we’ve sidestepped the environmental burden of shipping boxes of documents around the U.S.
